Kathmandu, The stock market posted a strong performance on the first trading day of the week, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rising by 31.12 points to close at 2,672.55.
According to NEPSE, a total of 16.61 million shares of 338 listed companies were traded through 95,445 transactions on Sunday. The total turnover for the day stood at more than NPR 8.40 billion, reflecting increased investor participation.
All sectoral indices ended the session higher. The finance sector recorded the highest growth, surging by 5.73 percent, while other sectors also witnessed positive momentum.
During the session, shares of Sagar Distillery Limited, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited, and Gorkhas Finance Limited hit the positive circuit.
Despite the overall market gain, the share price of Three Star Hydropower Limited declined the most, falling by 8.78 percent.
