Kathmandu , The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for next Monday regarding the arrest permission issued against former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Deuba and others had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court challenging the issuance of the arrest warrant against them. Following the preliminary hearing, a bench led by Justice Meghraj Pokharel ordered the case to be given priority and scheduled for hearing on Monday.

During the hearing, the court will discuss whether the process followed in granting the arrest permission was legally valid. The order also noted that the issues concerning the Deuba family’s commitment to cooperate with the investigation, former Prime Minister Deuba’s health condition, and the court’s jurisdiction to issue such arrest permission would be resolved after arguments from both sides.

The case has drawn significant political and legal attention across the country. Observers expect Monday’s hearing to provide further clarity on the matter.
