Dang, July 26: A 13-year-old boy died after being buried in a collapsing soil mound while digging in a community forest in Dang on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Dipesh Chaudhary of Pipaldanda, Rajpur Rural Municipality-2, according to the District Police Office, Dang.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Hem Bahadur Khatri said the incident occurred while Chaudhary was digging soil in a nearby community forest. A mound of soil suddenly collapsed, trapping him underneath.
Local residents and police rescued the boy and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
