Gulmi, October 1: Traffic has resumed along the Kaligandaki Corridor after a section of the road was blocked by landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.

The road was obstructed at several points along the Harmichaur, Arbeni, Purtighat section after mud, debris and large boulders accumulated on the roadway.

Information Officer at the District Police Office, Birendrabir Bishwakarma, said traffic resumed on Wednesday evening after the debris was cleared using bulldozers and excavators. The clearance was carried out in coordination with Kaligandaki Rural Municipality and the Road Division Office, Palpa.

The obstruction had affected travellers heading towards Tamghas, Baglung, Palpa, Butwal and Pokhara. With the road now reopened, public transport and other vehicles stranded along the route have resumed their journeys.
