Kathmandu, The country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system, local winds, and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
At present, the weather is generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, including the hilly and Himalayan regions. Moderate rainfall is taking place in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
The Division stated that the weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the day in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country.
There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces during the afternoon. Similar weather conditions are also likely at one or two places in the Tarai areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, along with the hilly and Himalayan regions, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the remaining parts of the country will experience partly cloudy weather.
The Division has also forecast moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces.
