Kathmandu,The meeting of the House of Representatives is set to take place again on Thursday. The session will be held at 11 am, with a key agenda of responding to questions raised during the discussion on the government’s annual policy and program.

In today’s meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will respond on behalf of the Prime Minister to the concerns and queries raised by lawmakers regarding the policy and program.

Although Wednesday’s parliamentary agenda initially included a proposal from the Prime Minister for discussion, the proceedings were disrupted after the Speaker unexpectedly called the Finance Minister to address the House, leading opposition parties to obstruct the session. As a result, parliamentary business remained stalled throughout the day, and discussions on the policy and program could not begin.

However, today’s agenda has been formally set to include responses from the Finance Minister. After the response session, amendments proposed on the policy and program will be put forward for decision.

Following this, the Speaker will present the policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/84 for approval, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

In today’s session, Finance Minister Wagle will also table a proposal for discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the upcoming fiscal year (excluding tax proposals). This is considered an important step in the pre-budget discussion process.
