Kathmandu, July 27: Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma returned to Nepal on Sunday after completing a four-day official visit to India aimed at enhancing judicial cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Dr. Sharma had traveled to India on July 23 at the invitation of Justice Surya Kant, his counterpart in the Indian judiciary.
According to Supreme Court spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala, the visit included a bilateral meeting between the two chief justices, during which they discussed ways to strengthen collaboration and exchange experiences on judicial administration, court management, and best practices in the justice system.
As part of the official program, Chief Justice Sharma also visited the Supreme Court of India, where he observed its judicial procedures and administrative mechanisms to gain insights into the country’s justice delivery system.
The Supreme Court said the visit was intended to promote professional cooperation and mutual learning between the judicial institutions of Nepal and India.
Chief Justice Sharma was accompanied by his spouse, Uma Sharma, and Joint Registrar Amit Upreti during the official visit.
