Kailali, July 27: A 29-year-old man lost his life after being bitten by a venomous snake while working in his agricultural field in Kailali district on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Hemant Chaudhary, a resident of Jabdahawa in Kailari Rural Municipality-5.
According to the District Police Office, Kailali, Chaudhary was tending to work on his farm when a snake bit him. Family members and locals immediately rushed him to Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi for emergency treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Chaudhary died at around 10:40 p.m. while receiving treatment.
Police Inspector Kailash Singh Bista, the acting information officer at the District Police Office, confirmed the incident. Authorities have recorded the case and are gathering further details.
With the ongoing monsoon season increasing the risk of snake encounters, health officials continue to advise people working in fields and rural areas to take extra precautions and seek immediate medical attention in the event of a snakebite.
