Generally cloudy weather is expected across Nepal on Tuesday, with heavy rainfall likely at one or two places in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the hilly regions and at a few places in the Terai. Moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is also expected at a few places in the Himalayan regions.
Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the Himalayan and hilly regions. The Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim are also likely to remain generally cloudy, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in the remaining Terai areas.
Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely at one or two places in the Himalayan region tonight. Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected at a few places in the hilly regions and in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim. One or two places in Madhesh and the Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may also receive rainfall.
According to the department, Nepal is currently under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system along with monsoon winds.
