Kathmandu, July 26: Nepal Police have arrested several individuals on suspicion of leaking the question paper of the Master of Business Studies (MBS) examination under the Faculty of Management at Tribhuvan University.

The arrests were made on Sunday morning following instructions from Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has taken the suspects into custody and launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

The controversy arose after the question paper for the Organizational Behaviour subject was circulated on social media within minutes of the examination beginning on July 20, raising serious concerns over the security and integrity of the university’s examination system.

Following the leak, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Management at Tribhuvan University formally requested the Cyber Bureau to investigate the matter and take legal action against those involved.

In a parallel move, the Examination Control Division has constituted a three-member investigation committee led by Prof. Dr. Achyut Gyawali. The committee includes Associate Professor Pushkar Raikhala, Deputy Director of the Monitoring Directorate, and Associate Professor Mahesh Raj Ojha, a member of the Central Examinations Governing Board.

The committee has been given seven days to investigate the incident and submit its report. Authorities say appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of both the police investigation and the university’s inquiry.
